Start the Party Off Right & Keep It Rockin’
Monday, April 3, 2017
Hosting an on-site wedding ceremony or waiting for the guest of honor to arrive at the big surprise party? Consider occupying your guests with a couple of light bites while those wedding photographs are being taken. Appetizers can be incorporated to stave off a growling stomach before the main buffet is served especially if you are hosting a rather late dinner. Options can range from simple cheese, fresh fruit, and veggies to more extravagant one-bite morsels. They can be arranged at self-serve stations or butlered by catering staff.
Trying to Keep the Party Going?
Imagine that your guests having been drinking and dancing for the last three hours and the hunger pains are starting to set in again. One way to extend the party and keep your guests involved is to offer a late night snack. Think cheese coneys, cheeseburger sliders, milk & cookies, grilled cheese & tomato soup shooters, or a nacho bar.
A couple of tips …
- Plan to serve the snack 1 to 1.5 hours prior to the conclusion of your reception.
- Try to keep it small or bite-sized.
- Plan to order for about half of your original guest count since many of your guests may have already departed. If you feel like most of your guests will stay until the end, you may have to alter your order accordingly.
